Donations

The Trust is registered as a charity (SC010264) with the Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator (OSCR) and with HMRC. We welcome donations from individuals, legacies and corporate entities. Individual donations can be made online, in cash, or by cheque (payable to SJCA Educational Trust), or they can be made through an employer Payroll Giving Scheme.

If you are a UK taxpayer, you can increase the value of your donation at no extra cost to yourself. Under Gift Aid rules, if you complete a donor "declaration", the Trust can reclaim 25p of the tax you pay for every £1 you donate. Higher rate taxpayers who complete a self-assessment return can reclaim a further 25p (40% tax band) or 37.5p (50% tax band) of tax paid for every £1 donated. (This will be reduced to 31.25p for the new 45% tax band from April 2013).

If you donate through the Payroll Giving Scheme, tax is automatically included at your highest rate, and no further action is required.

You can donate online using BT MyDonate, or through the Charities Aid Foundation.
With either of these you can opt to Gift Aid your donation. You can also opt either to alert the Trust to your donation or retain complete anonymity.
BT MyDonate is preferred as they do not charge commission.
