DonationsThe Trust is registered as a charity (SC010264) with the Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator (OSCR) and with HMRC. It invites donations from individuals, legacies and corporate entities. Individual donations can be made directly to the Trust by cash or cheque (made out to SJCA Educational Trust), or they can be made through an employer Give as You Earn scheme or from a Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) Charity Account (see http://www.cafonline.org/) Under Gift Aid rules, if you are a UK taxpayer, the Trust can reclaim 28p of the tax you pay for every £1 you donate, subject to the receipt of a donor declaration (rate held in the 2008 Budget until 2011). Higher rate taxpayers who complete a self-assessment return can also opt to donate a further 23p of tax paid for every £1 donated (see section 19a of the return). Give as You Earn and CAF Charity Account donations include tax (at the donor's highest tax-rate) and require no further donor or Trust action.
